There are various types of treatments for ADHD. Often the practitioner who diagnoses will recommend treatment options based on their evaluation. In addition, it is important to note that the treatment of ADHD, just as with other medical conditions, the final decision rests with the person with ADHD or parents in the case of children. Based on many scientific studies, the most successful treatment involves a multi-modal approach.

ADHD Parent Coaching or Parent Training
The treatments above have been studied and have varying degrees of success. In particular, neurofeedback and interactive metronome seems to work for some and not for others. Coaching is often suggested as a means to assist with behavioral change, life skills and executive functioning for living "WITH" ADHD. There are other claims made around various nutritional supplements that have not been accepted by the ADHD scientific community due to insufficient data.
We also know that there is a correlation between a healthy lifestyle and improved functioning for the person with Attention Deficit Disorder.
- Eating a healthy diet including Omega 3 fatty acids and plenty of fluids
- Adequate & restful sleep
- Consistent exercise
There is NO cure for ADHD.
